As a leading global wine company, TWE strives to enrich the culture and the communities in which we operate. In conjunction with our sustainability and environment programs, community investment program, and our commitment to advancing the responsible consumption of alcohol.
We are committed to advancing the wine category in alcohol education and the promotion of responsible consumption of wine. Millions of adults around the world enjoy our brands, and we want people to do so responsibly.
It is for these reasons that we have an Alcohol Policy which confirms our commitment. The Policy is supported by specific Responsible Marketing Guidelines which outline our requirements for promoting our wines in all of the markets that we operate in around the world.
Community Investment Program
In conjunction with our sustainability and environment programs, the first phase of a responsible and relevant community investment program was launched in May 2012.
Aimed primarily at providing opportunities for our employees to make meaningful contributions to the communities in which they live and work, TWE’s community investment will be delivered through a variety of mechanisms including:
- enabling employee volunteering with one paid day per year granted to each of our employees across the globe;
- “matching donations” on employee fundraising activities; and
- awarding community grants to organisations and causes as requested by our employees because of their relevance and involvement with the cause/organisation.
These community investment options will primarily focus on providing support to food and water themed initiatives.
Why focus on Food and Water initiatives?
Food is a natural accompaniment of wine, and is often the bridge between consumers and our products. Food enables consumers to experience and enjoy our wines at their best. Inadequate or a complete lack of food in some communities is a global social challenge that TWE seeks to help address, for the advancement of society.
Water is the largest resource input into our business across our vineyards and wineries. Water and access to water is a global environmental issue that strongly resonates in the communities in which TWE operates. As a result, our business operations have an ongoing focus on careful water management and conservation.
For more information on our approach to community investment, and donation request application form, view our Community Donations page.
From time to time, our extensive portfolio of wine brands may also elect to support causes or organisations which have a specific relevance to our brands and consumers. These activities will be determined by the management teams for each of our foundation brands.
