This is the first time Beringer Vineyards will participate in Vinexpo Asia-Pacific, a measure of the importance of the Asia marketplace to the winery and its commitment to the region.

The event also serves as a perfect platform for Ed Sbragia, Beringer’s 6th winemaker in its 136-year history, to share wines from the top American Viticultural Area in California with Asian wine professionals and demonstrate Beringer’s expertise in crafting Napa finest wines.

The company commemorated the milestone by launching a new global community investment program with a focus on food and water initiatives.

David Dearie, Chief Executive Officer for Treasury Wine Estates, said that TWE Vintrepreneurs across the globe are actively encouraged to support and contribute to their local communities.

“On this special occasion of our first birthday, we are very proud to give back to our communities. We really want to make a difference and our total team of Vintrepreneurs is committed to being agents of change.

“To mark our commitment, today we kicked off a new investment program for community grants, volunteering and matching charitable fundraising. It also supports the important work our individual brands do such as the Beringer Million Meals campaign, where we donated more than two million meals last year.

“Together all these programs will equate to approximately AU$1 million of value in the first year,” said David.

Carrying the internationally recognised carboNZero certification logo, Squealing Pig Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir carbon zero version wines will launch in Sweden, Norway and Finland this month with plans to expand to other countries.

Squealing Pig achieved its carboNZero product certification to join the growing popularity of the category from our Nordic customers.

Sam Glaetzer, Director New Zealand Wine Production & Brands, said that this achievement is a testament to TWE’s existing long standing commitment to reducing carbon emissions across the TWE supply chain.

“Our net carbon emissions with these wines are zero. This is an amazing achievement, ensuring Treasury’s position as a leader in environmental sustainability. To produce great wine for future generations, we need to responsibly care for our land, operate in the most sustainable way and use energy efficiently,” added Sam.

carboNZero Holdings, a leading greenhouse gas (GHG) certification company, granted the certification to the Squealing Pig wines. The internationally accredited carboNZero programme under ISO 14065 is based on over a decade of research on climate change, greenhouse gas measurement and carbon monitoring.
