Corporate Volunteering and Community Engagement

Corporate Volunteering and Community Engagement

Treasury Wine Estates' commitment to local communities is evidenced by its membership to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Treasury Wine Estates has been a signatory of the UNGC since 2011, and has embedded its commitment to the Compact’s principles on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption in its business through various internal policies, and through its suppliers via the Responsible Procurement Code.

While we have embedded the UNGC throughout our supply chain, we also support our commitment to communities through specific Corporate Responsibility programs, including:

Volunteering

Each employee across the globe has access to one paid day per year to volunteer. We strive for our greatest volunteering impact through the execution of a Global Volunteer Week, during which we arrange for all employees who would like to participate in volunteering together, to do so in one week.

The 1124 Gift

“Matching donations” of up to $1124 AUD to employees who undertake fundraising activities.

Charitable donations and product discounts

Providing support to organisations and causes with an employee or regional community connection to Treasury Wine Estates.

Global Volunteering Week

In 2015 we launched our first Global Volunteering Week, mobilising our employees to make a positive impact in our communities.

Treasury Wine Estates’ second annual Global Volunteering Week (GVW), which ran from 16-20 May 2016, was a huge success, with employees across all regions and functions lending a hand to charitable organisations in their communities. Teams enjoyed a range of activities, including sorting food parcels for families in need, restoring native vegetation, planting trees, collecting litter and cleaning animal enclosures. In total, more than 1,300 TWE employees participated globally and we partnered with more than 80 charities and organisations in more than 26 communities across the world.

1124 Gift Program

Treasury Wine Estates employees who donate or organise charitable fundraising activities can have their donation "matched" by Treasury Wine Estates to increase their fundraising total.

Under the program, called the 1124 Gift, Treasury Wine Estates will match up to $1,124 (AUD), encouraging employees to contribute to charitable organisations close to their hearts.

The title ‘1124 Gift’ draws its relevance from the year 1124, when construction of the Castello di Gabbiano (Gabbiano Castle) commenced. Castello di Gabbiano is one of the oldest and most treasured wine brands in Treasury Wine Estates' portfolio.

Charitable Donations and Product Discounts

In limited circumstances, Treasury Wine Estates will provide charitable donations and product discounts to organisations and causes with a personal or regional connection to Treasury Wine Estates.

From time to time, our extensive portfolio of wine brands may also elect to support causes or organisations which have a specific relevance to our brands and consumers. These activities will be determined by the management teams for each of our foundation brands.
